Fondu GIveaway - Velata Chocolate + warmer

Today was the launch day for the Scentsy Family latest brand, Velata.

What is Velata?

Velata is a collection of 14 different colorful warmers and 4 different types of Belgian Chocolate. The warmers use a 25 watt lightbulb.  Chocolate can be melted in the warmer (about 30 minutes) or via microwave.  It's a quick and easy way to add variety to a party or take to a pot luck.

The best part of all is the dish on the warmer is made to  go from warmer, to frige to microwave and then dishwasher.  It couldn't get any easier!

Treats are fine in moderation and Velata is no exception. A little taste goes a long way and I'm looking forward to using it at potlucks and taking to Scentsy house parties.

Scentsy Review Body Spray & Solid Perfume

The Layers line is interesting in the sense (or should I say scents?) that each product picks up different tones of the fragrance. For example, if you use the shower cream, body butter, and body spray of the same fragrance, they will all smell a bit different when you apply them.  The combined effect is wonderful and makes you smell nice but not in an overpowering way. 

My final review of the Scentsy Layers line is comparing the body spray to the solid perfume. 

Let’s start with the body spray. This is a lightly loaded product that will not overpower or choke others around you.   Just a spritz or two and you’re ready.  The scent lasts a few hours. It’s not long term unless you get it in dry hair or on your clothes. 

Like most of the line, the body sprays come in the following fragrances:

Coconut Lemongrass - Creamy, tropical coconut and sunny, bright lemongrass.

Enchanted Mist - Romantic blend of juicy apples, enhanced and sweetened by rose petals and rich jasmine.

Love Story - Innocent pink jasmine and sensual amber embraced by luscious dark chocolate.

Luna -  White florals—jasmine, sweet pea, and freesia—juicy berries, and sandalwood shimmer like moonlight.

Quiver - Innocent vanilla flower, warm sandalwood, and sultry night-blooming tuberose in a seductive scent, meant to cause a shiver of delight.

Sugar Cookie- Warm, sweet blend of butter, sugar, and creamy vanilla.

The solid perfume was released last fall. It was the first product in the Layers line available to purchase.   I do love the solid perfume.  It is long lasting and I’ve received many compliments about it. Put it on one pulse point and you will get a very concentrated dose that is exactly the same tones as the wax bar.  This is probably the truest replication of the wax to Layers scent.  The scent is long lasting. I usually use it in the morning or right after work. My kids can smell it on my pillows.  

I’ve tried many of the solid perfume scents. My favorites are Linger and Love Story. I was disappointed that My Wish (which is one of my favorite wax scents) does not smell good on me.  I mixed it with Love Story and liked it that way.  I’d love to see some of the male Scentsy fragrances available in solid perfume (especially Vanilla Suede, Hendrix , Zeppelin or My Dear Watson).

One tube lasts a long time.  I've had one since September, use it every day, and there is still plenty left.  A great value for $18.

Linger - Pink grapefruit, sugared apple, lavish praline, and flirty marshmallow swirl create a

Midnight Fig - Earthy, ripened figs and golden berries tempered by musky woods will open your eyes and captivate your senses.

My Wish - A confection of earthy fig, sweet violet, and playful marshmallow will have you wishing for more.

Quiver - Innocent vanilla flower, warm sandalwood, and sultry night-blooming tuberose in a seductive scent, meant to cause a shiver of delight.

RU N2 Me - The spirit of a millennial captured in warm pink pepper, deep woods, and bright cassis in a scent for everyone.

Satin Sheets - Sensual and earthy sandalwood perfectly paired with rich, warm vanilla.

Simply Irresistible - Lavender with a strong, woody background of amber, moss and musk.

ezStringer Review and Giveaway

I don’t know about you but I’ve thrown out too many pairs of draw string pajama pants that I couldn’t restring.  I was elated to get a chance to test out the ezStringer.   

Of course, once I received the product, all of the drawstring garments in the house behaved.  After a month of waiting to try this product, I took matters into my own hands and took out my own drawstring.  

The ezStringer kit comes with three plastic reusable stringers and runs about $10 before shipping and handling. The stringers are of various diameters and will accommodate most draw string needs.   There is also an optional package of 12 replacement drawstrings available for$9.98.

First try, I used the ezStringer before reading the instructions.  Not the best idea.

Second try, I read the directions but pulled too soon.

Third try. GOT IT! 

I’m so happy, I’m about to restring everything we own! No, not really, but I will be ready for the next draw string emergency.

Let’s talk about the cost. $10 isn’t much considering that most items I’ve tossed due to draw string malfunctions have cost more than that.  Also, the stringers are plastic and reusable.  In most circumstances, you will only ever need to buy one kit for yourself.  You probably will want to get them for others. 

The creators of ezStringer were kind enough to give me two extra kits and some extra strings to share with readers.

The World Anti-Doping Association (WADA) and the National Football League (NFL) updated their list of nationally banned substances to encompass a group of all-natural phyto-chemical compounds known as ecdysteroids, found in various plants around the globe, including suma root.
